Rantings of a Pastor/Gamer/Historian/Geek
Have you ever had a “fun size” candy bar? Let me tell you, I don’t think that the marketing gurus understand the proper correlation between candy volume and fun. If you take a look at the very scientific looking chart below, you can see what I mean.
This chart clearly shows us what candyologists call the “Hershey Postulate”. As the amount of candy, x, increases towards some number, n, so does enjoyment, e. Stated in formula as: e = (x^n) / p (where p is the number of people consuming the candy), the “Hershey Postulate” is one of the defining principles behind candyology.
Fortunately for us bloggers, the “Hershey Postulate” does not extend into the blogosphere. In fact, quite the opposite is true. The “Idontwannareadyourlongblogposts Theorem” states that: “As content, c grows towards infinity, ? attention spans, a shrink towards negative infinity, - ?.” In formulaic terms, the “Idontwannareadyourlongblogposts Theorem” can be stated as: a <= c ^ ?.
If you have ideas that don’t lend themselves well to “fun size” posts, then break up your ideas into a series of posts. Remember, blog posts aren’t like candy bars, the smaller your post, the more your readers will enjoy it.

I have a hard time writing short blogs sometimes because I tend to use a lot of words to thoroughly explain my thoughts. I also am never sure how long is too long.

I completely understand. Only recently have I been able to write in little chunks. When I first started trying to write blog series, I would write out the entire post in Word, and chop it up into sections after I was done. I still do that sometimes, maybe that would help you?

I understand and respect your candy formula, but you should have used another variable besides e because e is an already defined variable.
I don’t like your other formula…a power of a ?…don’t like it..
