“Meh” Ever feel like that describes how you feel? It’s not that you don’t care about anything. You just feel “meh”. That’s kind of how I’ve been feeling for the past few days. I have the desire to do things, but just don’t have the energy to get anything done. Do you ever struggle with feeling “meh”?

When I’m feeling all apathetic, I like to read 2 Timothy 4:1-3. In his second letter to Timothy, Paul says:

I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (NIV)

And here’s Kevin’s paraphrase:

Listen, it doesn’t matter what your emotional state is. Do God’s will. Whether you feel like you’re on fire for God, or a smoldering ember, the command is the same. Don’t make excuses. Do everything that God has commanded you to do. Most people have a hard time living this way. Indeed, there are people who would rather be led by their emotions, grasping on to whatever they feel at the moment, rather than sticking to the truth. (KDV - Kevin Dwight Version)

So, that’s how I deal with the “Meh’s”. How do you deal?
