James and I are members of LifeChurch.tv’s “Open” network. That means that we have the ability to download all of LifeChurch.tv’s message materials, including videos, sermon outlines, etc. This past weekend, we were invited by Brian, who is over the Open network, to visit him at the LifeChurch.tv Campus in Hendersonville, Tn and experience a weekend service.

It was great to get a behind the scenes view of how a LifeChurch.tv campus operates, and we came away with a few ideas and a lot of printed material. As soon as we walked in the door, James was like “grab all the printed stuff you can”. And, we did. After our tour, Brian had a quasi-impromptu question and answer session. The service was loud, raw and in your face. After the service, my wife, who had previously been against “video pastoring” decided that she had been wrong about the effectiveness of teaching via satellite. All-in-all, it was a good trip. We even got to eat at a Ruby Tuesdays. But that’s another story.

Since it’s been a while, I thought I’d give some bullet points about what’s going on at LifePoint at the moment. So, here’s the bullet list, in no particular order. (It’s not a good post without a bullet list)

  • We’ll have our very own lights in just a few weeks!
  • Our praise and worship is currently in a transition.
  • We’ve seen more new people in the last few weeks.
  • We’re working on something for elementary school kids.
  • Our Heroes series is going to be awesome. Don’t miss it. Catch a bus, train, plane or drive. Unless you are physically unable to make it to LifePoint. Then you’ll just have to miss it. Sorry.
  • I’ve got to head out to our creative team meeting. Later.
