Rantings of a Pastor/Gamer/Historian/Geek
Last Sunday was our second First Sunday Dinner, and it was great. Everyone gathered at the Ward’s house after church and chowed down on some great baked potatoes with all the toppings: chili, cheese, sour cream and, the coup de grace, homemade bacon bits. Now, Diette was a little surprised that I made such a big deal out of the bacon bits, but I’ve never heard of anyone making their own bacon bits.
Bacon bits aside, it wasn’t just a great day for food, but for hanging out. It was great getting to know everyone (and getting my butt kicked at NCAA Football for the Xbox 360). There’s only so much that I can learn about someone on Sunday Morning, especially since I’m usually running around like a chicken with my head cut off, so it’s nice to have a much more relaxed atmosphere to get to know people in. Thanks to the Wards for letting us invade their home every couple of weeks. We’ve only had two dinners so far, but I can already tell that this is a LifePoint tradition I’m going to enjoy. Now, let’s all go have some homemade bacon bits…
