James apologized in the last post for the lack of updating this week. It’s been a crazy one for us. The good news is, lots of things have been happening with the church that I thought I’d fill you guys in on, since the blog has really hit the back burner recently. (It’s not that we don’t think it’s important, it’s just that everything isn’t high priority.)

Meeting in the theatre can make it hard to form relationships that are active during the week, so we have taken some steps to purposefully foster community.

    1. Every other Thursday we are meeting at the Bryant’s house for a large “small group”. We’ll discuss church stuff and generally hang out.
    2. The second is an awesome example of what we hope to be happening every Sunday at LifePoint. The Wards have volunteered to ask visitors (and regulars) out to dinner every Sunday. Now, they aren’t buying, but it’s a great way to get to know people and connect them to our core group. As LifePoint grows, we hope that everyone takes this attitude. We look forward to the Sunday when a visitor gets asked to 10 or 15 different places!
    3. Finally, we are going to be having a monthly lunch gathering at the Wards’ house. Everyone from visitors to regular attenders will be invited and for the visitors, it’ll be free. For the regular attenders, it’ll be more like a pot-luck :P It’ll be a great way to get to know each other and for visitors to ask James and myself questions if they want to. We are usually running around on Sunday mornings like proverbial chickens with our heads cut off and don’t have a lot of time to get to know people.

Needless to say, we look forward to being able to connect with visitors and to build better relationships with those people already in our church. James and I have also been feeling like something big is about to happen, so having these systems in place is a necessity. Especially if God moves in the way we are praying.
