So, here’s the follow up to my last post. I decided to put it in list formats, on the count of lists are so much easier to write.
- My role of Executive Pastor means I have to learn how to give up certain areas, like message preparation, even though I really enjoy helping with them.
- James and I have basically been trying to divide the church workload directly down the middle, but that division of labor just doesn’t work.
- I need to learn that my job, my calling, is actually systems and figuring out how things should work. In the real world, this is definitely one of my gifts.
- James and I worked for a few years as a web design team. He would do the design and I would do the programming to “make it all work”. We need our church relationship to be more of a mirror of that working relationship.
- Thankfully, we found this out early.
- A big thank you to those who stepped up to make sure that we were able to meet in the theatre next week. (Not really related to this list, consider it a freebie :P)

It sounds like finding your different roles and niches is going to work out well. My fellow leader in our group is great at administration and on-the-ground action, whereas I operate more in the theoretical and philisophical realm, which makes for a good team dynamic. I can think up ideas and she can do the work. ;) Just kidding!

It is about time that you and James start doing your job and quit trying to do everything yourselves.
