I promised in another post to tell you guys a little bit about how we are preparing series/messages, so here goes. Well, the good ole’ days of just James and I sitting down to hash out a series or message are gone. (And hopefully with it all the late Saturday nights it brought) Yesterday saw the birth of a new epoch in LifePoint message preparation. The dawn of a new and glorious day, in which we would not stand alone against the marauding morasses of message preparation; when an elite few would stand with us as we battled the horrendous army of procrastination, distraction and writer’s block. Who are these intrepid souls, you may ask? Who would be brave enough? fearless enough? crazy enough? To deal with us on an almost daily basis? I’m very glad you asked. I have listed the members of the Teaching Team below, along with their corresponding superpowers.

Now that you know all the members of the Teaching Team (I tried to get them to call us the “Teaching Force” or “Voltron”, but I was shot down), let’s talk a little bit about how these members are going to interact. (Sadly, this is somewhat of a more serious topic, so if you were just reading this because of it’s witty, satirical style 1) you were probably reading something different. 2) I have to get at least a little serious for a moment. My apologies)

<Serious And Non-Witty>

We’ve decided to test an email distribution system combined with weekly meetings for our teaching team. First, Myk will manually read and distribute additions, scriptures, quotes or other types of documents sent to a specific email address. (We had considered using something like Google Notebook but found that it’s a little too buggy at this point.) Basically, Myk sends everyone on the team an email with the current manuscript. This manuscript contains all our ideas, thoughts, scriptures, etc. and can be edited by any member of the team, with each member using a different text colour. This allows us to see who is saying what. In addition to this document distribution, there will be weekly meetings to discuss what we’ve been reading/writing. Again, this is our first attempt at a teaching team, and like everything at LifePoint, is subject to change.

Now, where was I? Oh yeah, I painted this picture very quickly in MsPaint, and decided to change the name of our Teaching Team. Let me know what you think:
