Rantings of a Pastor/Gamer/Historian/Geek
Well, I have to admit, I was pretty upset when Chris Sligh was voted off American Idol. I don’t necessarily think that Chris was the best singer in the competition, but I definitely think he is better than a few people who are still around. Today while I was tooling around on the old internet, I stumbled upon his band’s website. Halfpastforever.com is the online home of, you guessed it, Half Past Forever. You can do all the stuff you expect on a band’s page: listen to some of their music, read bios, etc. Most of the site has “Chris Sligh is not a currently a member of HPF” plastered all over it, but don’t worry, according to a recent MTV interview Chris will be re-joining the band upon his return to Greenville. If you want to hear more than the few second clips offered on the band’s site, you can visit their MySpace page. There you’ll find full length songs. At least MySpace is good for something! :P
Overall, I really enjoy the band’s sound. Every song is laden with pop hooks, electric guitar riffs and some soulful singing. When my wallet recovers from my Xbox 360, I’m gonna order their debut CD. I suggest you do the same. Stover Out.
